Dong Qichang (1555——1636), also known as Xuanzai, was born in Songjiang County, Shanghai City. Dong Qichang was good at poem and writing, particularly at painting and calligraphy. Integrating the styles of well-known calligraphers in history, Dong’s achievement in calligraphy reached a very high level.
